• Orenburg State Medical Academy (OSMA) Medical Institute named after Chkalov now The  Orenburg State Medical Academy was established in 1944.

•  Orenburg is one of the oldest higher educational establishments of Russia.

• The first doctors graduated in May, 1946. By decision of State Cmmittee of Russia on higher  school, the institute was organized into the Orenburg State medical Academy on July 15 1994.

• Specialists in the sphere of medicine have graduated from the academy of many for  many years.

• Orenburg State Medical Academy has a very good hostel system with fully furnished rooms, quite  study environment and surrounded with recreation center.

• There are three hostels at the Academy: No.1, No.2 and No.3. First they were opened in 1961,  1964 and 1981 correspondingly. They became the second home for young people who came from  different place

• All favorable conditions are created in the hostels: rooms for organization and running of events,  sports areas, and household rooms with all necessary equipment, personal hygiene rooms, libraries,  Internet, cloak-rooms.

• The rooms of the student dormitories have access to the internet and various OSU online  databases and library catalogues

• The total number of personal computers in the dorms are more than 120.

• Also students are provided with free internet access from 10 p.m to 6 a.m. each student is also  provided with the free email account to use.

• Due to the high number of students at OSU and limited space availability in the dormitories, only  certain groups of students have the privilege to apply for university accommodations:

• students from other towns and cities;

• post-graduate students, students working toward their Doctor’s degree, trainees;

• The Orenburg State Medical Academy facilitates the students to study in a healthy environment on Academy campus.

• From 1 to 3 February 2013 in Kuvandyk passed XVII traditional open tournament in women’s volleyball team,  dedicated to the Hero of the Soviet Union VG Kozenkova, participated in the tournament 11 teams of the  Orenburg region, including the Women’s National Team Volleyball OrGMA .

• The team of OrGMA lost in a bitter struggle in the subgroup, where her opponents were teams: g.Yasny,  g.Kuvandyk, Buzuluk OGTI (Orsk) and the village Ziyanchurino. In the second sub-group relations defined by the  command: OGPU (Orenburg), Sol – Iletsk was Akbulak KeiB (Orenburg), and Novotroitsk.

• From 3 to 8 December in the PR department of Orenburg State Medical Academy and in groups to prepare for  university entrance held“Week of Russian language.”

• Active participation of students have taken courses of all groups of the department. 

• As part of the week was a competition for the “Best literate” and they were: Vasilyeva Vasilina, Yerokhina  Xenia, Krygin Anastasia Bogdanova Ilzira, Ermukanova Madina, Maximova Daria. Boys excitedly decided linguistic  crosswords, enthusiastically talked about the importance of phraseology. But with even greater interest, students  took part in the preparation and implementation of intellectual marathon “Know! You do not know – Know!  “Where, using illustrations and card-set, hand made, they talked about the art of poetry, painting and music. 

• As a holiday decoration performed songs based on poems by Yesenin, Okudzhava by Erokhina Xenia  accompaniment of guitar music and the gentle sounds of a flute.
